Stardoll adds a Variety of Skin Tones

Stardoll added a skin color picker in the beauty parlor section. You can still choose from the previous colors, but also pick from your own color from a gradient of colors, representing all race. Pretty awesome!
Why its only for superstars? I dont know.

Stardoll Makes Improvements on the Site

Stardoll made tons of changes this week on the site. They've have definitely set there goals on improvements this year. One improvement, i actually requested myself, was the need for a faster storage. I totally hated how long it took to find stuff because i had so much. I stopped buying clothes because of it. So im really happy for this improvement.

The "improvement" im not so excited about is the Jewelry Section in Beauty Parlor. The items look smaller and separated. The Eyelashes are especially hard to see. I preferred the OLD Jewelry Cabinet.

Does anyone else like or dislike all the new changes that have been happening?

Stardoll to DisneyDoll Rumor

Im sure youve read about the "Stardoll to DisneyDoll Rumor" that Disney was going to buy out stardoll and change it into a new disney doll website, but people including stardoll says its a fake. Im so glad that stardoll says this is hoax or rumor because i would totally die if stardoll became a 5 year old Disney fiesta. I mean Disney is cool sometimes, just not for EVERYTHING. Although, does anyone know where did this "Disney News" came from?

It all started with the mentioning of rumors with buyers trading papers and such in the near last paragraph of the interview with stardoll.com originator and creator Liisa Wrang: History of Stardoll.com

Stardoll Change the Contest Page

Stardoll made some improvements to the contests page! I like it waaaay better. It's easier to navigate and lets you choose exactly where you wanna go. Did anyone prefer the old one?

90 million members on Stardoll

Sorry haven't been near a computer. But wow has a lot of stuff happened on Stardoll. They have officially passed the 90 Million Members mark, thats so crazy. It would be cool to get rid of all the useless accounts though. Like if people don't log into that account for over 6 months it should be deleted or maybe give people a year.
No free stuff this time around, but you do get 50% of your stardollars back if you spend 90sd!

Message about Stardoll Royalty Dress from TSI

UPDATE: Dress was recieved in suites today 1/4/11

Im not in Stardoll Royalty, but a way you join in is by buying a Superstar Membership for a full year.

Heres a Update from Stardoll Insiders:
Remember the free dress all royalty members were promised as part of the 12 days of dresses campaign? . Stardoll has sent a letter out to all royalty members but when you click the image it does not send you the dress. At least we know they haven't forgotten about it and that it's coming really soon. (If you haven't got the letter and you are in stardoll royalty, log out and in, it worked for me).

1. Totally new set up...sort of use to now but...
' we want our Purple and gold SD back please :)
2. Then huge price rises
3. Aaah , The Collectibles, we fly around with buckets of stars and by the end of the month we've a pretty doll :)
4. Interesting scenery 'another world' appeared..:)
5. Now we geometrically size, layer our suites....SD we are not mathematicians
6. Yeah NSS can buy from the star bazaar :))

Stardoll Message

Recieved this message on stardoll today, about stardesign interior items. Apparently, the sizing stuff has changed in our suites. I remember hearing about this somewhere else, but it just started today in my suite.
Plus, i also got a free dress :)
Has anyone else got this message?

80 Million Members - Stardoll Message

You know there's 80 million memebrs on stardoll already.

There were spoilers about it...

There will be the clothes and the baloons of course...

But now stardoll is giving us a big present!

When you spend 80 stardollars you will get a half price of it .

Like, you buy a dress for 50 stardollars, and stardoll gives you back 50% (=25 stardollars back!)

But this will be avalaible when you will spend 80 stardollars.

Stardoll has almost reached 80,000,000 members!

I need to admit, for this year people are very active.

It's also good, for us.

Because everytime stardoll gets on 10,000,000 members more

we get free or cheap clothes & stuff.

Do you think Stardoll is trying to be like i-Dressup?

Some people are really upset with the whole new makeover of Stardoll. Members are saying its more difficult to use and you cant find anything. Also, that the broadcasting system is basically a waste of money because its so small and no one can notice it. On the other hand, some people really like and say you just need some time to get use to it.
There have been mentions that Stardoll is just trying to be like i - Dressup. I didn't think so till i took a look myself. It does look quite similar. Isn't Stardoll much bigger and more popular than i - Dressup? Why would Stardoll want to look like its competition when its better than its competition? Please correct me if I'm wrong.

Stardoll Thru The Years

STARDOLLS HISTORY
Stardoll's original name was Paperdollheaven.com, and started out as the hobby of the Scandinavian-born Liisa. Inspired by a childhood passion for paperdolls, Liisa started drawing dolls and accompanying wardrobes and taught herself web design. Her personal homepage rapidly became a popular destination for teens. In 2004, with the help of her son, she upgraded the site and called it Paperdoll Heaven. "Most online sites are focused on violence and competitiveness", says Liisa. "I wanted to create a positive online environment for young girls who are creative and interested in fashion. They are looking for alternatives to shoot 'em up and kill 'em up games." Liisa is still an important part of the Stardoll family and she makes new paper dolls every week which you can find at Stardoll.com, your paper doll heaven!

OCT 2004 - This was her first site! Called Paperdoll Heaven. So simple!

DEC 2004 - Soon she had to upgrade and revamp her site because of ALL the traffic she was getting to her site.

FEB 2005 -  She added a Sign In, Search and People who just Signed In Features.

MARCH 2005 - This is when Paperdoll Heaven change its name to Stardoll. As you can see it changed to the stardoll colors as well.

APRIL 2006 - Big Change! This is when it started to look similar to the stardoll that we know now. Pay attention to how many members have joined!

JULY 2006 - Layout changed slightly. They added Medolls and a Shop!

DEC 2006 - Homepage animation has been added! Also "the show" at the top. Maybe its like stardoll cinema. Look at how many more members!

FEB 2007 - They added boy medolls and a couple more buttons for advertising.

JULY 2007 - Added Clubs and different languages to stardoll. Also, on the right side bar you see a few more additions like "todays poll," Stardoll News and it looks like the Superstar feature was introduced too.

OCT 2007 - Stardoll introduces Stardesign, my favorite feature on stardoll!

DEC 2007 - Layout Slightly changed and ads were added. Members tripled since Dec 2006

JULY 2008 - Layout changed again slightly. Sceneries were added and Pick of the Day was added. Stardoll stood like this for quite some time. I joined in Aug 2008.

JAN 2009 - Stardoll decided to change its homepage giving it a fresh more appealing look. It also gives you a peek inside before you sign in.

JULY 2010 - Stardoll Now. They changed the home page to attract new members. I believe this change is one of the smartest decisions ever made by stardoll. Us stardoll members know what its all about, attracting new members is key to making it bigger.
